On the early morning of April 8th Beijing time, Trump posted a message on social media, expressing his strong dissatisfaction with China's measure of imposing a retaliatory tariff of 34% on American goods. At the same time, he threatened: "If China does not withdraw this measure by April 8th, the United States will impose an additional 50% tariff on all Chinese goods starting from April 9th. The communication of the talks requested by China will also be completely interrupted." 

Judging from China's firm determination to implement the 34% tariff countermeasure and Trump's addiction to the tariff war, this event that the cumulative additional tariffs imposed by the United States on China will reach as high as 104% within less than two and a half months (from April 2nd to April 9th) is highly likely to become a fact.
