According to One Shipping quoted CCTV financial report: On June 7, the head of the import and export Food Safety Bureau of the General Administration of Customs answered reporters' questions on the comprehensive assessment report on the disposal of contaminated water from Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan released by the International Atomic Energy Agency.

The person in charge said that since the 2011 Fukushima nuclear leakage accident in Japan, the Chinese Customs has always attached great importance to the radioactive contamination of Japanese food exported to China caused by the accident, closely followed the relevant measures taken by the Japanese government after the Fukushima nuclear leakage accident, and continued to carry out the assessment of the risk of radioactive contamination of Japanese food and timely response.

The Chinese customs has banned the import of food products from ten prefectures (cities) including Fukushima, Japan, strictly reviewed the accompanying certification documents for food, especially aquatic products from other parts of Japan, strengthened supervision, strictly implemented 100% inspection, and continuously strengthened the detection and monitoring of radioactive substances to ensure the safety of Japanese food exported to China and strictly prevented the import of risky products.
