Release time: 2025-12-10   Browsing:126次
China’s Port Throughput Data from January to October 2025 Shines Brightly
Data released by the Ministry of Transport shows that from January to October 2025, major ports nationwide handled 294 million TEUs of container throughput, representing a year-on-year increase of 6.4%. Of this total, coastal ports accounted for 259 million TEUs, making up 88% of the overall volume, with a year-on-year growth rate of 6.6%; inland river ports registered 35.13 million TEUs, a rise of 4.7%.
Against the backdrop of declining China-U.S. trade volume, China’s export growth to the EU, Southeast Asia and emerging markets has effectively offset the impact of reduced exports to the United States. The top 10 major ports in the ranking are as follows: Shanghai Port, Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, Shenzhen Port, Qingdao Port, Guangzhou Port, Tianjin Port, Xiamen Port, Suzhou Port, Beibu Gulf Port, and Rizhao Port.
Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, Beibu Gulf Port, Rizhao Port and Tangshan Port all achieved double-digit growth. Benefiting from the policy advantages of the Hainan Free Trade Zone, Yangpu Port posted an impressive year-on-year surge of 52.5%.
Shanghai Port handled its 50 millionth TEU this year, 26 days earlier than last year, and is expected to surpass last year’s record of 51.5 million TEUs. Ningbo-Zhoushan Port’s annual container throughput exceeded 40 million TEUs for the first time, becoming the third member of the global "40 Million TEU Club". The foreign trade container throughput of Nansha Port Area in Guangzhou rose by over 20% year-on-year in the January-November period, hitting a new all-time high.
